Opinion: Surgery to stop autistic boy's screams was the right decision
Mon Sep 30, 2013
Skeptical Times, are you posting just to see yourself on the internet or do you truly believe the things you are typing? There is no blood test for autism yet, which means you wouldn't know if your child was autistic before giving birth. I have an autistic daughter and although I absolutely wish her …
Chorus of critics greets new psychiatric manual release
Fri May 17, 2013
Well thank goodness! My daughter used to have Aspergers and now she must be cured since the enlightened ones have decided it doesn't exist anymore. I sure hope this means she won't fight me every morning about the clothes that were picked out, loud noises won't send her in to a severe panic attack, …
Ireland court rules paralyzed woman cannot get help to commit suicide
Mon Apr 29, 2013
If assisted suicide had been legal in NC 4 years ago I would have helped my father to the other side without question. He was stage 4 cancer, no point putting what kind because the list at the end was all kinds. He was in constant excrutating pain, delusional from the pain meds, incapable of washing …
School abuse victim wins $23 million in damages
Wed Dec 19, 2012
"The jury on Tuesday apportioned 30 percent of the fault, or about $6.9 million, to the former Los Angeles Unified School District student" Am I reading that right? Does it seriously say that the student is 30% responsible for being attacked by this molester? The child was 10 years old for crying ou …
Facebook ordered to identify cyberbullies who harassed mom
Fri Jun 8, 2012
I wonder if you could get someone under identity theft here in the US. Seems like if they post your picture, your address and pictures of your children while claiming to be you that it would be concievable. Maybe harassment as well. But there should be some recourse for people like this.
A baby made in India: a couple's dream comes true
Mon May 28, 2012
What is amazing is the people who do not understand how hard it is to go the foster care to adoption route. As a former foster parent with the hopes of adopting I can personally tell you it is NOT a route for the faint of heart. You open your heart and home to ANY child. The courts order visitation …

ADHD overdiagnosed in youngest kids in class
Mon Mar 5, 2012
I'm sort of shocked that people are blaming teachers. In the school system that my children are in the teachers aren't even allowed to say ADHD. Parents have to approach them and have them fill out forms for their pediatrician. They are not allowed to discuss it with the parent and certainly aren't …
Child care cuts force hard choices on parents
Thu Dec 29, 2011
Not every single mom is the traditional "welfare mom". I was married for 14 years, had a daughter and WE (my ex-hub and I) decided to have 1 more before I got to old. 14 months after our 2nd daughter was born he decided he couldn't take the stress of being a father and husband. In his words "its all …
Ind. Amish mourn for 2 kids killed in cart crash
Tue Sep 6, 2011
God does not "allow" or "make" things happen. Human nature, chance, whatever you may call it is what maks things happen. The Bible states that humans have free will remember? God is the one to turn to for comfort and guidance when tragedy happens. People that blame God or ask why He allows things t …
